To Hug or Not to Hug?

Posted: January 31, 2010 in Uncategorized
After getting it written, I decided that I needed to rewrite the story that a picture that Dancingsheep wrote. I realized that what I had written wasn’t really the story that was in my head. I am currently rewriting the story to what was on my mind. I want to make sure that I write DancingSheep the best story for that picture that she made.

Below is something that a friend from The Experience Project wrote.

TO HUG OR NOT TO HUG?
By DreamWizard
I prefer a hug from a child,
for their little arms wrapped around me,
fills my soul with joyful glee.
While a hug from my boyfriend confirms his love for me,
my grandmother’s hug’s were served with a smile and “A nice cup of tea”
guaranteed to set any worries free.
Now, a stranger’s hug seemed too personal to me,
perhaps my eyes had been eyes closed
but events would soon disclose
the truth that my soul would soon come to see
I had always reasoned, for strangers, only a handshake should do
but that changed last week, when a heart wrenching decision came due
It was time for my kitty, named Annie to be free from her pain,
so with a lump in my throat we set off for the vet, once again.
It was I who let out a cry of anguish
as I watched her take her last breath
as I gently removed my hand away from her lifeless head
No one to console me, as my Annie now lay dead
Alone is a sob with nowhere to hide
A pain so deep, as if stabbed by a knife,
my lungs collapsing, as if a hole sucked the breath from my life
This is when outstretched arms came from nowhere,
and reached around by my side
when I heard another grieving sigh
I felt a hug come from the vet,
a woman whom before, I had never met
she came back around when everyone else left
A woman strong enough to void what the masses do follow
not to follow the medical norm but comfort a stranger in sorrow
when most would leave with a mournful shrug
she chose compassion instead
and offered a stranger her HUG.
I will be forever grateful
In Memory of Annie…..The Stray Cat that shared my life for 19 incredible years together

Back when I was a kid, I got into trouble one day over something. I don’t know what it was that I got into trouble about, but I was put onto punishment. As part of my punishment, my mom made me take a camera and go outside and take come pictures. With these pictures I was suppose to sit and write a story about each one of them. What ended up happening was that I developed this thing of writing short stories. It also made me look deeper into things than what was just visibly to the normal eye. Over the years I have written a number of short stories, and have even had a couple of them published.
Over the last few days I have been conversing with a young lady who lives in Singapore over the Internet. Dancingsheeps is a very beautiful and intelligent young lady whom I think will make a difference in this world. No I am not romantically interested in her, but I really do like her and would love to meet her someday. Today she posted a picture that she drew, and she asked what people thought of it. Suddenly I saw an interesting story in that picture.
I decided to copy the picture onto my computer, and I am going to write a story related to what I see in that picture. As I thought about it more, the more that I realized that I would like to do the same thing with other pictures that I see. Hopefully you will enjoy the stories and that some of them will make a difference in your life.
Thank you DancingSheep for activating my creative mind again.
